OUR  STRATEGY 2026 - 2030

The future of support for Service children will be built together

We want every Service child to thrive. Achieving this requires people from across education, research, policy, funding and support services to work together around a shared purpose.

The world is changing and the challenges ahead are growing. The needs of Service children and young people are becoming increasingly complex, while the capacity of the people and services supporting them is under increasing pressure. At the same time, there is an opportunity to work more effectively together, strengthen the use of evidence and ensure support reaches every child who needs it.

Our strategy for 2026–2030 sets out how we will respond to both these challenges and these opportunities.

The future we can shape together

The future of support for Service children will not be built by any one organisation alone. It will be built by people working together, learning from one another and acting on what works best.

By strengthening collaboration, expanding access to evidence and supporting continuous improvement, we can create a stronger, more connected system of support around every Service child.

Whether you're already part of the Alliance or discovering our work for the first time, you have a role to play in shaping that future

By 2030, we want every professional supporting Service children to have access to the evidence, expertise and community they need to help Service children thrive. To achieve this, we will focus on three connected priorities...

What success looks like

...as the engine of collaboration and shared action.

Explore our Hub Network

We will build a stronger, more representative community that brings together people, organisations and expertise from across the sector. By creating more opportunities to connect, collaborate and learn from one another, we'll help turn shared purpose into collective action for Service children.

...as the framework for continuous improvement support from birth to 25.

Explore the Thriving Lives Toolkit

We will establish the Thriving Lives Toolkit as the framework for continuous improvement from birth to 25. By combining evidence, reflective practice and practical support, it will help professionals continually strengthen the support they provide to Service children in every education phase.

...as the equipping centre for evidence-led action.

 Explore the Impact Centre

We will establish the SCiP Alliance Impact Centre as the go-to resource for evidence-led action. By helping organisations evaluate their work, understand what works and share learning more effectively, we'll strengthen the link between evidence, policy and practice so that better decisions lead to better outcomes for Service children.

Together, these priorities will help more professionals understand the needs of Service children, work more effectively together and make confident decisions informed by evidence and experience.

Alongside this, we will continue to strengthen our impact measurement, communications, leadership and sustainability so that the Alliance can support the community for years to come.

Strengthening our foundations for the future

Our core purpose – helping professionals work together to improve outcomes for Service children – has not changed. But our ability to connect people, share evidence and support continuous improvement across the sectors and services that shape their lives is evolving.

By strengthening these foundations over the next four years, we can create a stronger, more connected system of support that helps every Service child thrive.
