As Director of the SCiP Alliance, Phil works with the Board to set the Alliance's strategic direction and leads key relationships with national governments and departments to help improve outcomes for Service children.

With more than 20 years' experience in education, research and social impact, Phil has worked as a teacher, leader of whole-school programmes, and Chief Executive of The Progression Trust. He has advised national organisations on education policy and strategy, co-founded the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers and has a Master's degree in Research. His wealth of experience helps ensure evidence, expertise and lived experience remain at the heart of the Alliance's work.

Rachel works closely with the Management Group to turn the Alliance's strategy into action, helping bring together partners, networks and stakeholders from across the community to drive meaningful change for Service children.

Rachel has more than 18 years' experience in widening participation, outreach and partnership development across the higher education sector. She holds the Association for Project Management's Project Management Qualification (PMQ) and has led a wide range of programmes designed to improve opportunities for children and young people. From the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) to school governance, Rachel’s experience helps strengthen collaboration across the Alliance community and turn plans into progress.

Emily leads the development and delivery of projects that strengthen support for Service children, including the development of resources, tools and approaches that turn evidence and insight into practical action.

With more than 15 years' experience across the charity, education and higher education sectors, Emily has developed and delivered projects that improve access to opportunities, strengthen inclusion and support social mobility. She has a Master's degree in Inclusive Education and is a graduate of Advance HE's Aurora (Women in Leadership) programme. 

Before joining the Alliance, Emily worked closely with schools and partners to support the development and implementation of the Thriving Lives Toolkit. Her experience helps ensure the Alliance's resources, projects and learning continue to respond to the needs of Service children and those who support them.

Through the SCiP Alliance Impact Centre, Liam helps organisations use evidence and evaluation to understand what works, strengthen their impact and improve outcomes for Service children.

Dr Liam Satchell is an experienced researcher, psychologist and data analyst with more than a decade's experience across academia and consultancy. He has a PhD in Psychology and has published more than 40 books and journal articles on psychology and data science-related topics. Alongside his role with the Alliance, he remains actively involved in research exploring education, mental wellbeing and pro/antisocial behaviour.

Through the Impact Centre, he helps practitioners, policymakers and funders build confidence in evidence, evaluate their work effectively and turn insight into meaningful action for Service children.

Sarah chairs the SCiP Alliance Board and brings extensive experience in widening participation, student success and strategic change across higher education. Alongside a strong connection to the Armed Forces community, she offers valuable insight into improving opportunities for underrepresented learners and strengthening outcomes for Service children. Sarah works as the Deputy Director of Student Support and Success at the University of Winchester.

After a 33-year career in the Royal Navy, Craig now supports charities to strengthen their governance and maximise their impact. As the parent of a Service child, he also brings valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges facing Armed Forces families. Craig is Vice-Chair of the SCiP Alliance Management Group. Craig is the Director of The Good Governance Guide.

Improving the lives of Service children and families has been at the heart of Clare's career. Through her leadership of the Naval Children's Charity and the SCiP Alliance, she helps strengthen collaboration, governance and strategic leadership across the Armed Forces community. Clare chairs the SCiP Alliance Management Group. Clare is the Chief Executive of the Naval Children's Charity.

Tian works with schools, colleges and partners to improve opportunities for Service children through higher education outreach and widening participation. As Chair of the SCiP Alliance South Hub and the national Hub Leads Group, Tian helps strengthen the partnerships and shared learning that improve outcomes across the community. Tian is the Schools and Colleges Manager at the University of Portsmouth.

Jessie-May brings extensive communications leadership experience across government, defence, higher education and research. Her expertise in media relations, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications helps strengthen awareness, collaboration and impact across the Service children sector. Jessie-May is the Head of Communications, Pandemic Sciences Institute at the University of Oxford.
