Principle 4: Transition is effective

Forres Academy staff recognise that support for pupils throughout the whole transition process is very important, to help new pupils settle and those who are leaving be as well prepared as possible for the move. This case study describes how the school leaders used the self-evaluation framework for Principle 4 to help them reflect on how they manage transitions, both into and out of the school. This allowed them to identify what is working well and, more importantly, areas where practice would benefit from further development.
