Nina Collins
Participation Manager, Forces Children Scotland
Nina was a registered Sick Children’s Nurse, and after a spell at the DWP, made the leap to work in the voluntary sector in 2008, working first at a young carers’ project in Fife where she developed training and resources for and about young carers. In that role she also led on the implementation of the Young Carers’ Authorisation Card Scheme for Fife, ensuring that young carers had early access to support, information and understanding from professionals. In 2016 she took on the role of manager and further expanded the support available for young carers in the Fife area. After managing the project for two years she moved to Forces Children Scotland in 2018 to develop their participation work and since then has supported a variety of projects to amplify the voices of children and young people from serving and veteran families. She is constantly inspired by the creativity, passion and dedication that the children and young people bring to Forces Children Scotland’s work.
