Rob Ilett

Head of Education (STRIDES), Scotty Little Soldiers

Rob qualified as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist in 2015, studying at Birkbeck College, University of London. After qualifying, Rob began a career in bereavement care, developing counselling services for children and young people at St Nicholas hospice and St Elizabeth Hospice in Suffolk. His work continued into the design and delivery of teacher training for primary and secondary schools across North Essex and Suffolk. In his current role as the Head of Education at the military bereavement charity, Scotty’s Little soldiers, Rob is working within the education sector to improve the support of bereaved children through the production of training and resources for teachers, teacher training providers and exam boards. Alongside his work in bereavement, Rob has led NHS Mental Health Support Teams for Schools in North Essex, encouraging schools to engage in a whole school approach in the support of children’s mental health.
