Armed Forces Children’s Needs – Challenging Professionalism, Policy and Practice

This interactive workshop will begin with a brief presentation of research findings from a recent study of armed forces children with additional needs. Viewed from the perspective of mobile families, it will raise fundamental questions about the incompatibility of the four education systems across the UK, with implications for professional practice in schools and for policy development at the national level. Although originating in Scotland, this workshop will be of great interest to anyone concerned with improving support for young people and their families, smoothing the learner journey, and securing improved outcomes through shared problem-solving.
